I'm with Web. Wholly inappropriate.

..............

-I like skinning.

Whether appropriate or inappropriate for the site, I think it is always interesting that these types of things happen when those responsible for the site are usually away or not available for an extended amount of time.  Imagine that.

Snowman shakes head, and long for the time to come when he can use the 'Worf gif' again.

Anyway, here's a few pixels neatly put together to form an image:

I was only disappointed a little because these images I associate with a site such as deviantart and not wincustomize.

Probably because posters are afraid they'll have to deal with comments like that.

I'm sure you wouldn't have made the same comment had it been to semi-naked women. Just saying.

Yeah. It's a double standard in more ways than one.

Two scantily women kissing would be okay.

Two 'topless' women kissing would 'get by' til enough 'women' complained.

Guys have the misfortune of going topless and not having it called porn or being rundown until they start kissing.

I guess two topless guys boxing would be okay. But for fucks sake, don't let them get affectionate.

You know, with all the stuff that has been posted in the forums in the nine years I have been here, up to and including photoshops of fellow skinners that only 'jest' at the possibility of them being gay for a LAUGH (which seems to be okay), I'm amazed that anyone who participates here would have anything to say about any two people showing affection at all.

Don't we even have a couple of skinners here who are transgender that were welcomed with open arms after they made it known? I guess it's okay as long as they don't post a pic of themselves kissing anyone.

Po if you want to single me out for what i wrote then that is fine with me but i am not going to apologize for what i wrote. Secondly there is no double standard on my part and you would know that if you had read all my comments. Also for your information I am not the only one that has voiced that they think the images are inappropriate. No doubt there are more who feel that way but are choosing to stay silent.

Now if anyone else wants to chastise me perhaps a pm is the way to go so we can get back on track with what this is supposed to be about, screenshots.

I singled out your comment , not you.

SO which one of us should take the time to look up all the negative comments you have made on any pics portraying scantily clad or half naked woman in the forums or galleries to back that up? (And what will find find first...negative comments or smileys with bulging eyes or their tongues hanging out?)

At this point, I have no doubt that you are 100% correct.

Po if I had seen it I would probably have commented, but I have not seen it here whether you believe that or not. Anything else?

seen what?

Tell me, how is this different from the one you have a problem with?

If you go back and look, this brought on comments about 'having wood' and you commented you had to take it off your desktop

I already replaced it because it was making my grandmother jealous, lol

So, YOU can post stuff that of women and go along with jokes, objectify them, and make a few jokes of your own but if someone posts a pic of two people kissing you have an issue? Why, just out of curiosity, was your grandmother jealous? Was it the hat? Was it the womans beautiful blonde hair?

Would it be better if they had their shirts on? THAT's the double standard in case you missed it. We, as guys, can take our shirts off in public and it's not an issue. You can post pics of Conan and half a dozen shirtless superheroes and it's okay. But NOT topless woman. For some reason breasts are porn once they are exposed.

Take the same shirtless guys and have them hold hands and folks cringe. Have them kiss and it's 'inappropriate.' Man and woman can kiss, with or without shirts and it's okay and sometimes called 'good photography' or 'art'.

Yes. There is something else. What is wrong...what specifically is the problem you have with two men, who are shirtless (which under any other circumstance would be fine), kissing?

Bravo PO. You must be proud now. I had asked to have this dealt with by pm but you in all your class wanted to have the last word or make a fool out of me I guess. Now are you able to move on. I hope so.

I'm going to lock this post temporarily until you all settle down. This is the monthly "screenshot" post and not your own personal bitching place. If you have a problem with someone's opinion then take it private.

on Jul 04, 2012

There IS NO 'double standard' on this site.  There is simply 'THE standard' which applies to 'wallpaper' images used in screenshots, and that is ANY wallpaper image is REQUIRED to be partially obscured to prevent 'easy' image extraction and thus re-use as a wall image.

This is a distribution/copyright issue that applies to ALL content, be it scantily clad women, men, or your family pet.

IF the screenshot upload includes an explanation as to the SOURCE of the image being your own, and therefore you OWN the rights to its duplication or distribution then the ONLY issue is whether the content of the image violates Site policy, IE. is racist, sexually EXPLICIT, or defamatory to others.

The image in question fails on the issue of 'obscuring' and is thus removed.

Its subject matter is not in itself objectionable and if obscured 'more' would be OK.

It's important to note that the monthly desktop screenshot thread is intended to demonstrate use of skins, or skinning-in-progress, and is NOT intended to be a billboard for contentious subject matter of ANY sort.

As for the image being more 'appropriate' for Deviantart it would be HOPED that even there someone would question the rights of distribution....at least.

I did some tutorials on another site a while back, music software based..

One commenter said.. Nice Tits!

I think he meant... Tut's

was all very amusing.

happy 4th!

Just as an example.

The wallpaper is an image I found on the net....[of Julia Sawalha - one of my fave actresses].  It's been altered [cleaned up per-pixel] by me but is NOT my photograph to distribute - here, or anywhere else.

It is SIMPLY my [current] background - which has been partially obscured by, amongst other things....PSP6 in an open window [as well as Fences, icons, etc] so would not be 'easy' to extract by a third person and thus see my complicity in unauthorized distribution.

The image in PSP, on the other hand IS my graphic, but even so it's reduced in size rendering it next to useless.

And...

If you look closely there's even 'nose art' on the aircraft of a 'naked lady' [it happens].

As far as 'skinning' goes....yes, the GUI is relatively 'stock', but the aircraft IS 'the skin' on display.
